I have started my new contract with NWRC, and it's fantastic! It's a wonderful place to work, and I'm really enjoying myself. Unfortunately, my first paycheque won't come until mid February. Ouch. Anyways, I think it'll be a great 4 months.
Meanwhile, I'm still working for RPBO part time. This works out well and means I'll at least be getting some earned money between now and February. Only downside is that I'll be doing 60+ hour work weeks until January 17th. I also have a few pieces of art to do for some of the volunteers - but I'm really excited to start painting saw-whet owls.
I got approved for a bank loan. This will allow me to pay off my few smaller debts and live comfortably until February. I'll be able to rapidly pay off this loan and hopefully get a (more flexible) line of credit by August. Yay working towards good credit...
Living in Hull is going well and I love my new bachelor apartment! It's small but cute, it's painted yellow inside, it's walking distance from a good local grocery store, and I get to live alone. It's only $435/month all inclusive and it's only a block away from the entrance to Gatineau Park.
Hopefully the drive test strike will end soon so I can get my G2 and start driving my car. Hello winter hiking in Gatineau park and visiting friends outside the city! Goodbye taking 3 buses and the o-train to get to campus for work/school! |
